Mozilla Foundation is the nonprofit behind Firefox's parent organization, funding work toward a healthier internet through grants, fellowships, and open-source support. Its Mozilla Technology Fund (MTF) gives awards of up to $50,000 plus a 12-month mentorship cohort to open-source projects tackling a themed public-interest challenge — past themes include AI bias and transparency, AI system auditing tools, and AI's intersection with environmental justice. It also ran the longer-standing Mozilla Open Source Support (MOSS) program, now on indefinite hiatus, and currently runs AI- and democracy-focused fellowships and cohorts.1,2,3,4
