NQS Mission 2: Coordination network
EPSRC and STFC fund an academic-led coordination network for UK National Quantum Strategy Mission 2, which covers secure, scalable quantum communications and the quantum internet. The network connects researchers, industry, network operators, policymakers and other stakeholders, must be co-created with end users and needs a dedicated grant manager. Funding is up to 630,937 pounds full economic cost per project, with EPSRC paying 80% (504,750 pounds), for up to 33 months with a fixed start date of 31 May 2027. The lead must be at a UK research organisation eligible for EPSRC funding, and applications go through the UKRI Funding Service rather than Je-S. The opportunity opened 29 September 2026 at 9:00am UK time and closes 24 November 2026 at 4:00pm UK time.
