Decarbonization Modeling of Urban Mobility and the Built Environment

Schmidt Sciences' Climate Center issues a sector-focused call under its Decarbonization and Energy Virtual Institute (DEVI) for modeling the decarbonization of urban mobility and the built environment. It plans to fund one multi-institutional collaboration, and teams can request up to USD 4 million over 5 years. Consortia are encouraged and single-institution applications are unlikely to be funded; for-profit partners may join only as subawardees. Three-page anonymized expressions of intent were due on 2 October 2026 at 11:59pm ET through the SurveyMonkey Apply portal. Selected applicants are invited to submit full proposals, and the page says notification comes by 30 November, with full proposals due about 90 days after invitation.
