Africa Jobs Fund

The Africa Jobs Fund (AJF), a fund of Renaissance Philanthropy, builds and backs companies in export manufacturing and international labour mobility across Africa, with a stated aim of mobilising $100M in philanthropic and commercial capital. It invests in two stages: scoping investments of $0 to $100k and scale-up investments of $100k to $1M, primarily through debt and revenue-based financing at concessional rates, with equity or grants only in exceptional cases. Founders apply to build new companies against pre-scoped opportunities or with their own ideas, and existing for-profit or non-profit organisations apply for catalytic funding; both routes are forms on the site with no stated deadline. AJF also runs dated calls: the AJF × SDRB Somalia Business Plan Competition ($20,000 for the winner, applications 5 October to 6 November 2026) and the Harambeans Africa Jobs Fund Prize ($20,000 grant, closed 14 October 2026), and lists a Manufacturing Fellowship reviewed on a rolling basis.
