Advanced Research for Climate Emergencies (ARC)
ARC is a philanthropic fund and program of Renaissance Philanthropy that funds research and strategic partnerships to predict, prevent and prepare for catastrophic climate risks, such as ice sheet collapse, climate overshoot, ocean imbalance and resilience to climate emergencies. Its grants page lists three levels. Seed grants generally give $30K to $100K for 3 to 6 month engagements covering scoping studies, concept development, early research and small pilots. Build grants generally give $100K to $400K for 6 month to 1 year engagements to develop programs or organizations. Scale partnerships are for existing partner organizations and are arranged by contacting ARC, with no amounts stated. The grants page shows 'Apply for a Seed Grant' and 'Apply for a Build Grant' routes with no deadline, and lists projects funded from 2024 to 2026.
