RUGS Program (R User Group and Small Conference Funding)

The R Consortium's RUGS program gives cash grants to R user groups, typically $500 to $1,250 depending on group size and special needs, plus payment of Meetup Pro fees for twelve months after acceptance. A new group with five committed members gets $500 and Meetup Pro; up to $750 needs at least one meeting every three months with more than 25 attendees, and up to $1,250 needs at least two meetings every three months with more than 50 attendees. Groups must have R as a primary focus, follow the Code of Conduct, acknowledge the R Consortium as sponsor, write two blog posts a year and sign a grant agreement, and an active group may apply once per calendar year. The grants do not cover software development, which goes through the ISC Grant Program. The R Consortium home page says the R User Group Program and Small Conference Funding Program is now accepting applications, but the program page still describes the 2025 window.
