OpenAI Researcher Access Program
OpenAI's Researcher Access Program gives API credits to researchers. It encourages applications from early-stage researchers in countries supported by OpenAI's API, with particular interest in researchers who have limited financial and institutional resources. Awards are up to $1,000 in API credits, usable on any publicly available model and valid for 12 months, with no extension or renewal; credits can take up to four weeks to arrive after a decision. Applications are reviewed once every three months, in March, June, September and December, and are submitted through OpenAI's SurveyMonkey Apply portal. A 3 February 2025 update on the page says applications are open again.
