Industrial Policy Grants
OpenAI's Industrial Policy Grants funded research projects that develop, evaluate or challenge ideas from its 'Industrial policy for the Intelligence Age'. Organizations could apply, one application each, with collaborators allowed, through SurveyMonkey Apply between 12 May 2026 and 28 June 2026 at 11:59 PM PDT. Projects were expected to finish within 6 to 12 months and to produce outputs such as reports, datasets, tools and publications. OpenAI's 17 August 2026 article says 14 projects led by independent organizations were chosen from more than 400 responses, with a total of $1 million in funding and up to $1 million in API credits across them.
