OpenAI Cybersecurity Grant Program
OpenAI's Cybersecurity Grant Program, launched on 1 June 2023, funds AI-powered defensive cybersecurity work. The original design was a $1M fund granting in increments of $10,000 in API credits, direct funding or equivalents, evaluated on a rolling basis with strong preference for practical defensive applications; offensive-security projects are not considered and projects should be intended for public licensing or distribution. A 5 February 2026 update says the program is evolving to focus on large-scale deployment of OpenAI's models for cyber defense, introducing Trusted Access for Cyber and committing $10M in API credits. The page has a link for submitting proposals and states no deadline.
