User Experience & Discovery Lab
The Open Technology Fund's User Experience & Discovery Lab provides free user-experience research and design support to internet freedom projects, delivered through partner organisations. Support covers user discovery and research, usability and visual design, accessibility design, and post-release usability audits and testing. Projects do not need to be OTF-funded but must fit OTF's mission, and OTF states it covers all costs. Applicants complete a short online form on OTF Apply, which sits behind a login, describing the project, its fit and the support needed, and choosing two preferred partners. OTF staff review applications within five working days, and the page lists twelve partners and no deadline.
