John Hunter Matplotlib Summer Fellowship
The John Hunter Matplotlib Summer Fellowship, named in memory of Matplotlib creator John Hunter, sponsors one to two students to work full-time on Matplotlib over the northern-hemisphere summer, supervised and mentored by a senior project contributor, to prepare them to become active contributors and core maintainers. The page lists a $6,000 award for 10 weeks of full-time work, and its overview describes the fellowship as 3 months. It is open to enrolled undergraduate and graduate students at any accredited university, with proficiency in Python, familiarity with NumPy, pandas and Matplotlib, and working knowledge of git. The page describes the 2018 fellowship and names Kimberly Orr and Nabarun Pal as the 2018 fellows, the latest listed. It gives no application route or deadline.
