AI for Resilient Manufacturing Institute competition

NIST issued a notice of funding opportunity on July 22, 2024 to establish a new Manufacturing USA institute that uses artificial intelligence to strengthen the resilience of U.S. manufacturing. NIST anticipates funding of up to $70 million over five years. The institute is not meant to substantially duplicate the work of existing Manufacturing USA institutes. Applicants needed an active SAM.gov registration and a UEI to submit through Grants.gov. The process began with a mandatory concept paper due September 30, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, followed by full proposals from invited applicants due on or around January 23, 2025. NIST states the application window for concept papers has closed, and the page names no awardee.
