Bridge to Artificial Intelligence (Bridge2AI)
Bridge2AI is an NIH Common Fund program that aims to bridge the gap between biomedical and behavioral research and artificial intelligence. Its first stage produced AI-ready flagship datasets plus software, standards, tools, best practices and training materials. NIH lists a second stage as approved, with two initiatives: Innovation Funnels, which use AI-ready datasets to create AI-enabled tools, devices and insights for health, and a Network for AI Health Science. The Bridge2AI funding page states that there are no funding opportunities at this time. A Grants.gov forecast for RFA-RM-28-010, the Bridge2AI Network for AI Health Science, estimates posting on January 1, 2027 and applications due March 1, 2027, to fund 3 to 5 Centers as cooperative agreements with $7,000,000 in total program funding and awards of $1,000,000 to $7,000,000.
