NASA SBIR/STTR
NASA's Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs fund entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses with fewer than 500 employees, with STTR teams including a research institution partner. Phase I awards are up to $225,000 (6 months for SBIR, 13 months for STTR) and Phase II awards are up to $1,275,000 over 24 months, open only to businesses that won a Phase I. Since 2026 the program uses a Broad Agency Announcement that releases subtopics for SBIR, STTR and SBIR Ignite in appendices through the year. The 2026 Appendix A and B Phase I solicitations closed on 21 May 2026 and selections were announced on 7 August 2026. The 2025 SBIR Ignite Phase II and STTR Phase II solicitations, both for eligible prior awardees, closed on 15 and 28 October 2026.
