Mode Governance OP Incentives (veMODE gauges)
Mode directs Optimism (OP) incentives to ecosystem apps through seasonal governance. Holders stake MODE, or Balancer pool tokens from the 80/20 MODE-ETH pool, to receive veMODE or veBPT and vote on which apps get incentives, in two-week epochs. Stakers who vote share a pool of 40,000 OP every two weeks, and apps that win votes pass OP on to their users, with campaigns listed on Merkl. Season 4 carried up to $2M in OP incentives, and protocols there stayed gauge-eligible by filing a Merkl form each epoch or a distribution plan and report. Season 6 started on 15 October 2025 and lets veMODE holders direct OP to ecosystem apps and AI trading agents, with voting power carried over from Season 5.
