GNOME travel sponsorship
The GNOME Foundation sponsors contributors to attend GNOME events such as conferences and hackfests, and non-GNOME events where the contributor represents the GNOME Project. The Travel Committee processes sponsorship requests from Foundation members, interns, speakers and other relevant contributors. Sponsorship covers travel costs, accommodation and visa applications, with a financial assistance package for meals and incidentals available on request. Applicants file a confidential GitLab issue using the application template and wait for approval before booking. The handbook states the Travel Committee is now accepting applications for travel funding via GitLab.
