FY 2027 Continuation of Solicitation for the Office of Science Financial Assistance Program
The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science's annual open solicitation (DE-FOA-0003665) accepts proposals for research in any area within its authorized mission, across advanced scientific computing, basic energy sciences, biological and environmental research, fusion energy sciences, high energy physics, nuclear physics and isotope R&D and production. Expected total funding is approximately $400 million in current and future fiscal year funds, subject to appropriations, through grants, cooperative agreements and other agreement types. Awards typically run six months to five years, most commonly three years. All types of applicants are eligible except certain 501(c)(4) nonprofits that lobbied after 1995. Applications may be submitted any time until September 30, 2027, 11:59 PM Eastern, or until a successor announcement replaces it, though individual topics have review panels and pre-application dates, and a pre-application is required for some panels.
