Cities Deliver: AI Solutions for Public Services 2026
The Rockefeller Foundation and OpenAI Foundation are committing $50 million to Cities Deliver, a global call for organizations working with city governments to improve public services through AI, especially for underserved communities. Seed grants of $500,000 to under $1 million fund a first city pilot; Scale grants of $1 million to $2 million expand a solution already piloted with early results. All grants run 24 months. Lead organizations are nonprofits (including university labs and fiscally sponsored groups) or public benefit corporations, with for-profits eligible only in limited cases; each needs a city partner and a charitable purpose, and governments cannot apply directly. Round 1 proposals and a short video are due November 29, 2026 at 11:59 pm US Eastern; invited applicants submit Round 2 proposals by March 1, 2027.
