  • Processing Foundation's Open Source Software Microgrants Program pays contributors for narrowly scoped improvements to p5.js infrastructure. Each microgrant provides USD 500 for about ten hours of work, and the 2026 programme provides 20 microgrants for the p5.js contributor community. The program is supported by the Maintenance Fund, with no public application route or dated submission window.

  • Processing Foundation supports artists, coders and educators building open source creative tools through an eight-month fellowship with a USD 10,000 stipend, mentorship and community participation. The 2027 AI, gaming and hardware tracks accept U.S.-based participants, with some tracks requiring New York City or Los Angeles residence. Public nominations closed on November 1, 2026, and only selected nominees can submit proposals through November 23, 2026.

  • Processing Foundation's permanent Maintenance Fund provides USD 200,000 annually, split evenly between Processing Java and p5.js, to sustain their core software and contributors. Shared Responsibility Committees involving the foundation and community set priorities and allocations, including contributor compensation and part of project-lead compensation. Allocations are directed to those project communities through the committees.
