Falcon Foundation (Technology Innovation Institute UAE)

The Falcon Foundation is an initiative by the UAE's Technology Innovation Institute (TII) dedicated to advancing open source generative AI. It champions the open-sourcing of generative AI models, releasing the Falcon family of large language models (including Falcon 40B and Falcon 180B) with publicly available weights for research and commercial use, along with the RefinedWeb dataset. The site was active with press releases dated May 2025 announcing Falcon Arabic and Falcon-H1.¹
