Algorand xGov

Algorand xGov is a community-driven governance layer where elected xGov Council members (node runners) review, vote on, and allocate on-chain funding for ecosystem grants, open-source tools, SDKs, and retroactive proposals. It evolved from a 2023-2024 pilot and relaunched in 2025 with updated qualification requirements tied to consensus participation; it runs in parallel with staking, focuses on adoption-driving projects, and is actively accepting proposals with community forum oversight.¹
