AFWERX is the innovation arm of the U.S. Department of the Air Force and manages its SBIR/STTR program, with roughly 10,400 contracts worth over $7.24B awarded to small businesses and researchers since 2019. It funds dual-use technologies, including AI, through open-topic and specific-topic solicitations plus STRATFI/TACFI scale-up pathways, running frequent solicitations and webinars on continuous funding cycles.¹
