Free and Open Source Software Sustainability Fund
The Open Technology Fund's flagship fund for internet freedom worldwide — censorship circumvention, privacy and secure communications, digital-security capacity building, and applied research. Concept notes are accepted on a rolling basis; most requests fall between $50,000 and $200,000 (range $10,000-$900,000), open to individuals and organizations of any nationality except those under OFAC sanctions, with priority for those working in repressive environments.
KAUST (King Abdullah University)
KAUST's dedicated office administering research funding across its four academic divisions: Biological and Environmental Science and Engineering; Biomedical Sciences; Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Science and Engineering; and Physical Science and Engineering.

Linux Foundation
Recurring Linux Foundation mentorship connecting new contributors with project maintainers on a defined deliverable. Full-time terms run spring (March–May), summer (June–August), and fall (September–November); mentees apply on the LFX platform to at most three projects per term. Participating projects may offer educational stipends on a purchasing-power-parity schedule; terms starting July 1, 2026 use a $1,000 minimum and $6,600 maximum.
Linea (ConsenSys)
ConsenSys launched the Linea Ecosystem Investment Alliance with 30+ venture capital firms to support builders on Linea, announced alongside Linea's mainnet launch and separate developer grants.
Long-Term Future Fund
Makes grants aimed at positively influencing the long-term trajectory of civilization, primarily by reducing global catastrophic risks -- especially from advanced AI and pandemics -- via technical research, policy, advocacy, infrastructure, and field-building. Grants range from $1,000 to over $500,000 (recent grants roughly $6k-$175k), through focused rounds plus an always-open application evaluated in the next round.
Manifund (AI safety regranting)
A regranting program that gives independent budgets ($100k+) to expert regrantors in AI safety, who recommend fast, small grants ($5k-$50k) to seed early-stage projects; applicants can also post projects publicly on the Manifund platform for donors and regrantors to fund. Regrants can go to registered charities and individuals, with for-profits eligible pending due diligence.
Mantle Foundation
A $200M catalyzed capital pool funding early-stage ecosystem projects in partnership with 20+ venture firms (incl. Polychain, Dragonfly), providing deal structuring, fundraising assistance, and exchange-listing support rather than fixed grant rounds.
