Open Source Endowment
The Open Source Endowment is billed as the first endowment fund dedicated to sustainably funding open source projects, investing donations in a low-risk portfolio and disbursing only investment income as grants, starting with roughly $5,000 microgrants.
OpenSats
Recurring wave-based grants funding Nostr protocol projects: app discovery, private calls, software distribution, client onboarding, and AI tools for open-source Bitcoin/freedom-tech developers.
Open Source Security Foundation
The funding channel through which OpenSSF allocates resources for audits, technical writers, interns, and other needs across its technical initiatives, working groups, and projects. Its defined request process includes tiers up to $70,000–$150,000. A separate $12.5 million coalition investment announced in March 2026 supplies OpenSSF and Alpha-Omega with capital for sustainable open source security work; it is not a standalone public application round.

A donation-funded grant initiative of The Perl & Raku Foundation supporting development of the Perl core language. Proposals are reviewed on a bi-monthly cycle (call opens every two months, two-week public feedback window before committee vote).
Pharos Network
A $20M ecosystem grant program for builders on Pharos Network (RWA tokenization, decentralized payments, DeFi, tooling/infrastructure), applied for at pharos.xyz/ecosystem; run alongside a separate $10M RealFi/RWA incubator (Builder Base Camp, with HackQuest).
Celo
Three funding pools for Celo builders: Anchor (traction-stage, $25k+), Boost (invite-only, cross-ecosystem), and Frontier (AI/agent-economy infrastructure, $25k+). 575+ applications, 120+ contracts signed, $2M distributed to date.
National Institutes of Health
NIH's Common Fund PRIMED-AI initiative has two open RFAs for AI precision medicine: RFA-RM-27-011 (multi-use AI frameworks playbook, due 2026-10-09) and RFA-RM-27-013 (translating AI precision-medicine models into clinical use, due 2026-10-19).
Center for Civic Futures
A $20 million fund supporting real-world AI experimentation in public services and disseminating findings so other government jurisdictions can responsibly adopt the technology.

Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund
Annual cohort-based grants of $50,000-$100,000 for one year to youth-led and intergenerationally-led U.S. organizations working on responsible technology, with young leaders holding funding-decision roles. The 2023 and 2025 cohorts were anchored by Omidyar Network. Fund 3 applications closed October 10, 2025. The apply page says the 2026 cohort is closed and that Fund 4 applications will be announced in Fall 2026. There is no current application form.
Rocket Pool
Rocket Pool's Grants and Marketing Committee (GMC) funds grants, bounties, and retrospective awards for rETH/protocol infrastructure work, run in numbered rounds.
Rocket Pool
A Grants Management Committee framework for smaller contributions across the Rocket Pool ecosystem. It provides a lower-cost route for recognizing completed or scoped work while the committee operates under tighter treasury constraints.
Rootstock Collective
Grants for measurable-impact projects driving TVL, users, and adoption on the Rootstock (RSK) Bitcoin sidechain, prioritizing DeFi, infra, tooling, and payments.
Stellar Community Fund
The Stellar Community Fund's primary award, funding teams building on the Stellar network with up to $150,000 in XLM per project across three tracks: Open (brand-new projects), Integration (existing Stellar building blocks or teams with significant traction), and RFP (tooling/services matching an open SCF RFP). Runs in numbered rounds; new applicants start with an interest form reviewed on a rolling basis, and selected teams complete KYC/KYB.
