The Optimism Governance Fund funds Missions — scoped funding requests reviewed by the Developer Advisory Board and the Foundation Mission Team — for measurable, onchain contributions across the Superchain. Individual missions specify budgets in OP tokens; recent cycles include Season 7 and cross-chain infrastructure mission requests.
Optimism Grants Council Cycle 28 allocated a remaining 15,000 OP budget through Season 6 mission requests and introduced a Token House-approved audit mission process. The cycle has ended and is retained as a historical governance funding round.
Intent 3: Grow Application Developers on the Superchain Objective : Establish a comprehensive repository of open-source, on-chain contracts for the Optimism ecosystem. This repository will serve as a critical resource for developers building on the Superchain, providing backend solutions for DeFi products and NFT marketplaces.
Optimism Grants Council Season 6 funded mission requests for Superchain growth, developer adoption, experimental applications, and subsidized smart-contract audits. The season concluded in November 2024 after receiving 91 applications and approving 22.
Optimism Grants Council Cycle 49 awarded multiple grants, including a Growth Grant to ArcadiaFi for automated liquidity management, one-click concentrated liquidity positions, leverage, and yield optimization on Optimism Mainnet. Optimism's Season 9 Grants Council mission funded incentives, vaults, routing, tooling, and integrations intended to increase DEX liquidity and trading efficiency for collateral-borrow pairs used by lending markets across the Superchain.
A recurring Optimism grants mission that funded Superchain growth through the Grants Council. Season 9 submissions closed May 20, 2026. The Grants Council was later dissolved; there is no public Season 10 window as of 2026-08-29.
OpenStreetMap Foundation's 2020 Microgrants pilot helped volunteers overcome financial barriers to OpenStreetMap work. The official program page identifies it as the 2020 project; later board discussions have not established a new public intake under this program.
A $50 million fund for 2026 from the OpenAI Foundation making unrestricted, one-time grants to US 501(c)(3) nonprofits with annual budgets between $500,000 and $10 million (priority $1-8 million; select regranters under $15 million), across community support services, community arts and cultural organizations, and community journalism and media. Grants run up to 10% of an organization's annual budget with light-touch reporting, and do not require use of OpenAI products.
A community-governed, milestone-based grants program funded by the Polygon Community Treasury. Season 2 Direct Track applications closed April 15, 2025. From Season 3 the treasury moved to an investment and program-director model. There is no public grant apply portal as of 2026-08-29.
Season 2 of the Polygon Community Grants Program made up to 35M POL available to fund builders on Polygon, split between a Grant Allocators Track (up to 15M POL, themed around AI, DePIN, and memecoins via independent allocators like Gitcoin, IoTeX, and Eliza Labs) and a Direct Track (up to 20M POL for any category). KYC was mandatory and funding was milestone-based. The program now shows as closed on Questbook.
Polygon Village's 2023 grants format funded projects building on Polygon. This historical program was later succeeded by the Polygon Community Grants Program.

IVADO's 2027-2030 call invests up to C$20 million in roughly 8-12 AI research clusters. Letters of intent closed July 31, 2026. Invited full proposals remain an internal step for teams that already submitted an LOI, not a public intake.
A season-based Decentraland funding program for small open-source projects that can ship within 90 days. Season 1 offered up to $15,000 in MANA for mobile content and AI-assisted builder tooling; applications closed April 24, 2026. No later season has been announced.
EUR 10M Horizon Europe cascade-funding programme led by NLnet with FSFE and other partners, offering EUR 5,000-50,000 R&D grants with rolling calls every two months (2026-2030) plus a scale-up track, across open-tech sovereignty/privacy, internet resilience, environmental impact, and supply-chain transparency. NLnet currently describes the fund as being set up; the first recorded call is closed and the next window is not yet confirmed on the Restack page.
A Rubicon developer fund that Optimism governance described as approved and active in October 2024. The update authorized roughly 110,000 OP in unused allocations for builders and contributors, but no current application route, intake status, or closure notice could be verified.
