One-time gift paid to the PI institution or organization.

The call budget excludes administrative overhead.

Up to USD 40,000 (Cloud credit)

AWS promotional credits subject to the applicable AWS agreements.

No cash value; generally nontransferable except authorized sharing within an AWS Organization.

Use only designated eligible services and redeem before the award-specific expiry; no universal ARA expiry period inferred.

These are separately conditioned resource components. Do not add alternative tiers or treat non-cash support as cash.

Round: Current call.

Eligibility and conditions
Eligibility

PI must be a full-time faculty member at an accredited institution or permanent researcher at a legally recognized nonprofit NGO equivalent to US 501(c)(3), and of legal adult age.

Exclusions cover government employees outside academia, sanctions, recent Amazon personnel and their immediate family or household, and specified Amazon procurement involvement.

Geography

Rules exclude Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk, and jurisdictions where participation is prohibited.

Requirements

One proposal per PI per call; no confidential content. Legal, ethical, institutional and conflict-of-interest conditions apply.

Use the October 2026 template: at most four pages excluding appendices, legible 11-point font and one-inch margins; references appendix limited to two pages.

Cash processing requires administrative compliance; prior consent is required for public disclosures about participation.

Upload proposal, CV and budget as three separate documents; describe milestones and justify cash and AWS needs.

Include prior-funded-project Appendix B if anyone on the project received direct or indirect Amazon cash or credits in the past three years.

AWS credit redemption requires an eligible AWS account; eligible-service overages, excluded services and taxes may be billed.

Reporting

Recipients are expected to provide research updates and inform ARA of supported research outputs.

Evidence scope

Call, ARA rules, October 2026 template and relevant public AWS credit/account/billing conditions reviewed. Direct HTTP confirms November 11 deadline; search caches still show November 4. Portal-only requirements and bespoke institutional AWS agreements remain unreviewed; access stays null.
