The Optimism Governance Fund funds Missions — scoped funding requests reviewed by the Developer Advisory Board and the Foundation Mission Team — for measurable, onchain contributions across the Superchain. Individual missions specify budgets in OP tokens; recent cycles include Season 7 and cross-chain infrastructure mission requests.
Season 7 contribution program for Optimism governance operations. Core contributors and trainees supported voting cycles, governance communications, documentation, onboarding, and Retro Funding while an open bounty system funded discrete community tasks.
Optimism Grants Council Cycle 28 allocated a remaining 15,000 OP budget through Season 6 mission requests and introduced a Token House-approved audit mission process. The cycle has ended and is retained as a historical governance funding round.
Intent 3: Grow Application Developers on the Superchain Objective : Establish a comprehensive repository of open-source, on-chain contracts for the Optimism ecosystem. This repository will serve as a critical resource for developers building on the Superchain, providing backend solutions for DeFi products and NFT marketplaces.
Optimism Grants Council Season 6 funded mission requests for Superchain growth, developer adoption, experimental applications, and subsidized smart-contract audits. The season concluded in November 2024 after receiving 91 applications and approving 22.
Optimism Grants Council Cycle 49 awarded multiple grants, including a Growth Grant to ArcadiaFi for automated liquidity management, one-click concentrated liquidity positions, leverage, and yield optimization on Optimism Mainnet. Optimism's Season 9 Grants Council mission funded incentives, vaults, routing, tooling, and integrations intended to increase DEX liquidity and trading efficiency for collateral-borrow pairs used by lending markets across the Superchain.

These Missions have been chosen to focus the Collective on being able to accurately measure an important sub-set of contributions.
Optimism's experimental demand-led grants track for Season 4. Eight requests defined work the ecosystem needed across data tooling, contract interfaces, audits, RPC services, academic research, token-bound accounts, and interoperability; 72 proposals produced 17 funded finalists.
A one-month hackathon for trading, DeFi, and analytics projects using Pacifica's API. Solo builders and teams of up to five were eligible; submissions closed on April 16, 2026.
Phase 1 of Pharos Network's Skill-to-Agent developer season asked builders to create reusable onchain agent skills. Submissions ran from June 8 through June 17, 2026; 40 selected developers received 500 PROS and advanced to the second-stage Agent Arena.
A community-governed, milestone-based grants program funded by the Polygon Community Treasury. Season 2 Direct Track applications closed April 15, 2025. From Season 3 the treasury moved to an investment and program-director model. There is no public grant apply portal as of 2026-08-29.
Season 2 of the Polygon Community Grants Program made up to 35M POL available to fund builders on Polygon, split between a Grant Allocators Track (up to 15M POL, themed around AI, DePIN, and memecoins via independent allocators like Gitcoin, IoTeX, and Eliza Labs) and a Direct Track (up to 20M POL for any category). KYC was mandatory and funding was milestone-based. The program now shows as closed on Questbook.
Polygon Ecosystem DAO Season 1 introduced a community bounty program for contributors to claim tasks and earn rewards for completed work. This early ecosystem program has concluded and is retained as a historical round.
Polygon Labs launched a one-year bounty program in April 2023 with $40,000 in USDC-denominated awards for high-quality Polygon Improvement Proposals. The governance team evaluated eligible core, contracts, interface, and informational PIPs quarterly, with award sizes based on proposal quality, complexity, impact, and implementation work.
Polygon Village's 2023 grants format funded projects building on Polygon. This historical program was later succeeded by the Polygon Community Grants Program.
Following on from the Celo Seasons 0 funding approval, Prezenti is pleased to open its ‘Almond Round’ of Celo grant funding! Like the Mint round, this round is open to all builders on Celo for a period of time. This round is facilitated using Charmverse .
