Three-month bipartisan fellowship for AI governance/policy research, with DC and London (UK GovAI) tracks; London track fully funded with up to GBP 12,000 stipend, travel support, and visa sponsorship, running Jan-Apr 2027.
grantmaking.ai
grantmaking.ai, in partnership with Manifund, opened a launch round distributing $5k-$50k grants per applicant from a $1M total round for projects reducing x-risk from AI. One short application creates a public project/funding ask reviewed by experienced AI safety grantmakers. Deadline is July 13, 2026.
Gray Area
Open call for artists using AI in creative projects, run with compute partner Modal: $2,000 honorarium, up to $5,000 production funding, and up to $20,000 in Modal compute credits.
Hedera
The final chapter of Hedera's three-part Hello Future hackathon series ran from February 17 to March 23, 2026. Builders competed across five tracks for $250,000 in Apex prizes, bringing the trilogy's total prize pool to $550,000. Hedera announced the winners on May 12, 2026.
EU Horizon Europe
Horizon Europe call topic (HORIZON-CL4-2026-04-HUMAN-02) funding work on a Web 4.0 architectural framework and an open internet stack, run through the EU Funding and Tenders portal. The call deadline was April 15, 2026.
Interledger Foundation
A 12-month fellowship for researchers, advocates, educators, technical developers, and other practitioners working to reduce barriers to digital financial participation. Each fellow receives $72,000 in compensation plus a $20,000 project budget; the 2026 application window closed June 15 and is now under review.

Institute for Security and Technology
A practitioner program for mid-career nuclear-policy professionals combining an in-person AI bootcamp, virtual seminars, and applied policy labs. Applications for the inaugural cohort closed on February 28, 2026, and IST announced the 26 selected participants in April.
Meta Llama Impact Grants
Meta's second Llama Impact Grants call awarded more than $1.5 million to 10 companies, startups, and universities using open-source Llama models for social and economic impact. Applications for that round closed in November 2024, and recipients were announced in April 2025.
Mantle Foundation
Mantle previously ran Flagship Buildathon programs and a Scouts nomination season. The former grants URLs now serve Mantle's institutional RWA marketing site and no longer describe a public grant or apply path. Scouts Season 2 closed 30 June 2025.

$10M fund jointly run by Google DeepMind, Schmidt Sciences, the Cooperative AI Foundation, ARIA, and Google.org, kick-starting independent research on multi-agent AI safety. The 2026 call closed 8 August 2026.

Cooperative AI Foundation
A $10M fund co-backed by Schmidt Sciences, Google DeepMind, ARIA, and Google.org, supporting 1-2 year research grants ($300k-$1M, or up to $300k for smaller projects) on safety risks from large-scale multi-agent AI systems. The 2026 call for proposals closed 8 August 2026.
NLnet Foundation
