The Chainlink Community Grant Program funded development teams and researchers building a more functional, accessible, and socially impactful smart contract economy. The documented application route now lives under Chainlink's archives path, so public intake is treated as paused until a current apply page is republished.
Circle
Circle's grants program for developers building USDC-powered applications, covering agentic economic activity, stablecoin FX, peer-to-peer payments, treasury management, prediction markets, and lending/borrowing. The application window is currently closed. Check the Circle grants page for the next cohort.
Gitcoin
Gitcoin launched Citizen Grants in 2024 with Citizens Retro, Citizens Innovate, and Citizens Forward. After the initial pilot, Gitcoin concluded the Innovate and Forward formats and shifted toward selective RFPs and direct grants. The governance forum category remains available, but no current general application window has been confirmed.
Sui Foundation
A former Sui Foundation liquidity-incentive program for DeFi builders. The moonshots URL now serves Sui marketing copy and the programs page no longer lists DeFi Moonshots as an open grant. Academic research awards and RFPs remain on the funding page as separate vehicles.
DFINITY / Internet Computer
The DFINITY Foundation's Developer Grants Program funds developers building on the Internet Computer, including a dedicated DeAI grant track. Public applications have been paused since late 2025 pending a program refresh. No reopen as of 2026-08-29.
Digital Brain Project
The Digital Brain Project funds a $5M Open Brain Modeling Initiative to support open, collaborative brain-modeling research.
Ford Foundation
A collaborative research-grants initiative — Ford Foundation with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Mozilla's Open Source Support programme, Omidyar Network, and Open Society Foundations (fiscally hosted by Open Collective Foundation for the 2020 round) — funding research on the open-source code and digital infrastructure underpinning the internet, including how to sustain maintainer communities and address systemic inequities in the field. Ran across a 2018 wave (managed jointly by Ford and Sloan) and a larger 2020 collaborative wave.
Anthropic
A $200M Economic Futures Research Fund for empirical research/policy trials on AI labor-market impacts (prior structure: $10K-$50K awards to economists/data scientists), plus a $150M National Fellowship Program for early-career professionals distributing AI's economic benefits beyond coastal tech hubs. $12M grantmaking program (funded by Coefficient Giving) for academics and independent researchers on deception, robustness, interpretability, red-teaming, and alignment. FAR.AI is nomination-only pending limited evaluation capacity and has not opened a public RFP.
Filecoin Foundation
Filecoin ProPGF Batch 2 allocated $3,220,200 in milestone-based prospective funding to 16 projects spanning core infrastructure, developer tooling, ecosystem growth, coordination, and integrations. The round received 102 applications and funded 15.7% of them.
GoodDollar
Season 3 of GoodDollar's GoodBuilders program offered a $50,000 streaming fund in G$ for projects building and growing on Celo. This season has ended; it is retained as a historical funding round.
Google.org
Google.org's AI for Science fund supported scientific projects using AI and announced 12 recipients on January 26, 2026. The application and selection round is concluded.
Knight Foundation
Knight Foundation's Prototype Fund supported early-stage media, information, and arts-technology ideas through small grants and structured prototyping support. The documented calls and award cohorts are legacy programs from the 2010s; no current Prototype Fund application window is published.
KUB Chain
KUB Chain has introduced a developer grants program structured around three pillars of support to foster innovation within its ecosystem. The program aims to empower builders by providing support for growth and development on the KUB network. The announcement did not include funding amounts, an application route, or a launch date, so the program remains announced rather than open.
Mozilla Foundation
Mozilla Open Source Support's Foundational Technology track funded open-source software that Mozilla relies on in its products, infrastructure, or internal work. MOSS has been on indefinite hiatus since the 2020 Mozilla restructuring and is not accepting applications.
